JSF Brushes Car / Bus / Truck / Train Washing Brushes

The JSF car wash brush system is an extension of the philosophy on engineered brush design.

Our mission was to design and manufacture a quality product which was well engineered, easy to assemble and refill, (on site if necessary) and which will assist and enhance our clients' own processes.

The JSF car wash design with its split aluminium castings, aluminium extrusion system and slide in strip brushes is a world class method of producing vehicle washing brushes, whether for bus, truck, train or passenger cars.
Car / Bus / Truck / Train Washing Brushes
5" dia core 12" diameter core

both brushes feature :

  • semi circular aluminium castings fitted to shaft

  • semi circular aluminium extrusions fitted with strip brushes

1. BRUSH STRIP
JSF vehicle wash brushes are made from a number of 8mm galvanised back strip brushes which may be cut to the particular length required and inserted into the extruded semi-circular aluminium channel sections to make up diameters which vary from 760mm diameter to 2030mm diameter.

The Brush strip for vehicle washing is generally filled with polyethylene bristle.

2. EXTRUDED SEMI-CIRCULAR ALUMINIUM CHANNEL SECTIONS
The sections are made of semi-circular aluminium extrusions suitably channelled to accommodate the brush strip.  Two sizes have been developed:

(a) to give a core diameter of approximately 125mm

(b) to give a core diameter of approximately 305mm

3. ALUMINIUM FLANGED AND UNFLANGED SPLIT CASTINGS
Suitable aluminium castings, complete with cadmium plated steel bolts and nyloc nuts, have been developed to tighten onto existing drive shafts, without the need for keyways or any other supplementary locking device.  Should keyways already comprise part of the equipment, they will simply complement the clamping device.  The design of the castings allows for a quick and easy installation and removal, of the semi-circular aluminium channel sections complete with strip.

4. FILAMENT
Polyethylene of good quality extruded in an 'X' shape to approximately 0.045", is the most suitable synthetic for panel washing.  The 'X' shape retains more than the filament weight in water , thus avoiding scratching.  Colours available - red, blue, black and white.

TOP BRUSHES

Most machines feature a top brush, whether in a split set-up, or a complete length.  Both types feature :

  • Split 125mm aluminium castings, which clamp directly to shaft, thus obviating the need for a keyway.
  • Flanged, split, 125mm aluminium castings used at end of brushes to hold in the individual strip brushes. These flanges do away with tedious, time consuming crimping of extrusion channels, and enable the extrusion to be re-used.
  • Heavy duty, extruded semi-circular, aluminium channel sections, bolted to castings, carry 20 individual strip brushes around periphery.
  • Strip brushes manufactured in a continuos, full fill, strip for greater density and washing efficiency.
  • Large diameter, rubber end discs to prevent tangling of the polyethylene filament around the shaft.

SIDE BRUSHES

There is a multivarious range relative to the type of machine.  Some use the small 125mm core whilst others use a combination of small and large.  Generally side brushes refer to the full length single brushes as used on the more elementary, yet quite efficient rollover machines, all of which use the 125mm cores.  Side brushes feature :

  • Split aluminium castings, clamped directly to shaft and placed strategically along length of brush for maximum strength.
  • Flanged, split aluminium castings, at each end, obviate need for crimping, and so prevent strip brush from falling out.
  • Heavy duty, extruded semi-circular aluminium channel sections, bolted to castings, carry 20 individual strip brushes around periphery.
  • Large diameter, rubber end discs, prevent polyethylene strands from tangling of the polyethylene filament around the shaft.

WRAP AROUND BRUSHES

The more sophisticated machines, conveyor operated, and tunnel type, have two types of side brushes.

viz Some use a small 125mm core, but the majority use the large core (305mm) to give maximum brush density and ease of movement around some of the difficult and tight, bumper bar areas

Outstanding features of 305mm Core, Wrap Around Brushes :

  • Extra large, 305mm diameter, split aluminium castings, clamp to shaft.
  • 305mm diameter flanged end castings prevent strip brushes from sliding out of extrusions.  These do away with time consuming crimping; also extrusions can be re-used.
  • Extra large, heavy duty, extruded semi-circular aluminium channel sections incorporate 48 channels around periphery to take 48 individual strip brushes.
  • Strip brushes are produced in a full fill pattern for maximum density and wash efficiency.
  • 450mm diameter rubber end discs are fitted to the bottom castings to prevent filament tangling around the shaft.

ROCKER PANEL

Designed by our engineers to get up into, and under, hard-to-reach rocker panel areas

Features of rocker panel brushes:

  • Small diameter (125mm), aluminium split castings clamped to shaft - flanged at ends.
  • Heavy duty, extruded semi-circular aluminium channel sections, bolted to castings, carry 20 individual strip brushes around periphery.
  • Strip brushes are produced in a full fill pattern for maximum density and washing efficiency.

WINDOW BRUSHES

These brushes are quite narrow, and the JSF Brushes method is to spirally wind, at a suitable helix with endless strip brush filled with polyethylene, on to plated tubes.  Suitable bores and keyways, to customer specifications, are provided.

Standard size 50" diameter x 5" wide or to customer's specification.

TYRE SCRUB BRUSHES

Designed by our engineers to efficiently clean the tyres within the wheel dish and under panelling, without scratching, the tyre scrub brushes incorporate the use of polyethylene in endless strip brush, spirally wound onto a plated core.

  • Cores are shafted or bored, and/or keywayed, to individual customer specification.
  • Brush can be made in a series of modules to facilitate replacement.
  • Brush can be made to any diameter and any length.

SPIRALLY WOUND CAR WASH BRUSHES

Certain car wash machines require spirally wound roller brushes filled with the JSF Brushes polyethylene filaments

JSF can produce to customer diameter, length and bore size
